Tattoo Aftercare

Warning: Neglecting your new tattoo can lead to disaster. Fresh ink is basically an open wound, vulnerable to infection that can ruin your art and health. Here's the crucial care routine: First things first, leave that cling wrap on for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 2 hours. When you take it off, gently wash with gentle soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry with a clean towel - no rubbing. Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare balm.

Clean twice daily with warm water and gentle soap, pat dry, and apply a thin layer of aftercare balm. Avoid tight clothes, smoke, perfumes and moisturisers, pools of water, and sun exposure for 3 weeks. Don't scratch or pick scabs! Follow these steps religiously to ensure your tattoo heals beautifully and stays infection-free.

Natural healing signs include scabbing and peeling, mild burning sensation, pain, redness and some itching - kind of like a sunburn.

Infection often presents with intense pain, intense itching and intense burning sensation that may spread, pus oozing from the tattoo site, and development of hives or lumps.
